Wired Intelligent Edge (Campus Switching and Routing)

Requirement:

1. Aruba OS-CX : Firmware Version 10.02.xxxx

2. Switches in VSX

3. Configuring MST

4. Aruba OS-CX Switches configured as non-root switch.

In 10.2 Multiple MSTP regions are not supported. Multiple instances are supported though

Below parameters should be same on all the switches participating in spanning tree in the network

STP region configuration for MSTP on all the switches in the network (MSTP)

1. config-name

2. config-revision

Additionally, the below needs to be same on VSX Pair switches

STP mode MSTP
STP region configuration for MSTP (config-name and config-revision)
STP instance to VLAN mapping
STP instance priority

STP region configuration for MSTP on all the switches in the network (MSTP)

spanning-tree config-name Region-One

spanning-tree config-revision 1

Configuration on both VSX Pair

vlan <VLAN Mapping>

spanning-tree spanning-tree priority <Priority>

spanning-tree config-name <Region Name> 

spanning-tree config-revision <Revision Number>

show spanning tree MST
