  • 1.  10 GIG SFP +LR not communicating between 2 switches HP 2920

    Hi

     

    I have conenctivinty issues with 10 GIG SFP+LR module connected in HP 2920 (both in different location conencted with fibre cable)

    i am hereby providing the CLI commands of both the switch

    please let me know the solutions

    Just curious: what is the purpose of using a Trunk Group (the non protocol one, so no LACP) with just only one member port (B1, on both ends)?

    What do logs (about B1 or Trk1 status) report?

    Have you tried - on both ends - to leave Trk1 group untagged on VLAN1 (Default VLAN) exactly as is for ports 1-24, A1-A2 and B2?

    hi

    Without trunk also its not working. It was untagged B1 on default vlan on both switches

     

    Jsut to check with trunk we tried trunk. There is only 1 port B1 on both the switches.

    hi

    I removed th trunk still not working

    The fibre link is single mode.

    When this switch is connected with 1 Gig SFP its working fine. When connected with 10 gig SFP its not working

    Is there any fibre link connection different from 1 GIG an 10 GIG ?

    Is there any specific fibre link for 10 GIG ?

    Current fibre link is working fine with 1 GIG SFP but not working with 10 GIG SFP

    I'm a little bit puzzled here: are you saying removed optical SFP+ Transceivers (10Gbps) [*] on both ends' B1 ports and installed optical SFP Transceivers (1Gbps) and, consequently, using optical SFP Transceivers the B1<-->B1 (Trk1) link was up, using optical SFP+ Transceivers the B1<-->B1 (Trk1) link was down?

    What optical SFP Transceivers were used instead of optical SFP+ on both ports B1 for your 1Gbps test?

    I presume you are referring to a "optical 1Gbps versus optical 10Gbps comparison"...and not a "copper 1Gbps versus optical 10Gbps comparison" when you say that 1Gbps link is OK and the 10Gbps link is not OK...because you must be sure that the fiber optic link between your two Switch is OK (both for 1Gbps and for 10Gbps: the Single Mode fiber optic cable is the same only optical Transceivers on both ends change).

    [*] As you reported: HPE X132 10G SFP+ LC LR Transceiver (J9151A).
