    Greetings.

Just getting started with Aruba devices. I have a 1930 switch and 4 access points (AP11D devices) that I want to setup to be a network (1930 acting as the router) connected directly to my ISP.

I previously configured everything how I wanted it on my home LAN. (1930 plugged into my home router, AP11D units plugged into the 1930, with 2 vlans)

When I went to deploy in the field, connecting the 1930 to my ISP's switch and then the AP11Ds ... the isp says it can see all the devices. I'd read the 1930 can automatically configure itself to act as a router, but guessing I messed that up.

How can I get the 1930 to do what I need it to do? Is cloud management an option or do I need to go local management? Or am I an idiot who spent a bunch of money on the wrong hardware?

Hello Donovan, are you sure the Aruba Instant On 1930 is Layer 3 capable (L3 = capable to act as a Router for its defined VLANs)? reading its QuickSpecs I was able to find only that it has: "Customizable features include basic Layer 2 features like VLANs and link aggregation, as well as advanced features such as Layer 3 IPv4 static routing, ACLs, and Spanning Tree Protocols, and IPv6 Host mode." and Layer 3 IPv4 static routing means only it supports static routes (up to 32 entries, as per QuickSpecs), not that is capable of routing its VLANs (through configurable VLAN IP interfaces).

Probably the test you performed within your home LAN went well because exactly your home router did IPv4 routing between your two VLANs while the Aruba Instant On 1930 didn't.
