    Hi,

Our current setup is two WG XTM 535 in a firecluster (Active/Passive) with a 2-port Link-aggregation from each to one 2510G-48p.
The aggregation is configured as static (Trunk).
    Trunks contains 9 VLANs.

From the 2510G-48p we got three 2-port static trunks to each ESX Host in the cluster:

My idea is to add one 2510G-48p to have fail over also in the "physical switch layer":

What would be the correct way to configure the switches for this to work?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

It's not possible in this scenario. You need stackable switches (IRF). You should use HP A5120 in a IRF stack than you can configure link-aggregation over two switches.

You also have the option of Distributed Trunking which is available on the higher end Procurve models (3800, 5400, etc). This will give you the same functionality as IRF - not as mature as IRF but still as functional. Iam sure the Comware users will have thier opinions on DT ;)
