Your choice between a 2930F and 2930M are strongly depend on your stacking and power reduncy needs:
- A 2930F (JL256A) have 48G Poe+ and 4SFP+ slots (listprice 5074euro)
- A 2930M (JL322A) have 48G Poe+ and 4SFP slots (listprice 5379euro)
The 2930F have VSF stacking technology that work on normal 10Gb SFP+ DAC cables at the front. (1Gb is possible but i dont recommended).
The 2930M have hardware stacking technology but require to add a stacking module and special stacking cables at the backsite. When need SFP+ you need to add a extra module in the backsite. Adding a SFP+ module and a stacking module your listprice is 8641euro.
The 2930F have a single integrated power supply where the 2930M have a option for a redundant powersupply and is hot replacable.
Some questions:
- Do you need redundant power supply's
- Do you require backplane hardware backplane stacking (2x42Gb)
- Do virtual VSF stacking with frontplane default DAC cables (2x10Gb) fit your solution.
- Do you need SmarRate interfaces
Depends on your needs the 2930F series are very often use case in office environments.
