Controllerless Networks

Hi,

I understand that technology moves on, and support must be dropped at some point, but given 315s are still supported by 8.12 (and I assume 8.13 too, which will be LSR), why were the higher end models of the same series left on 8.10? The 335 in particular, my understanding is that it shares the very same SoC as the 315.

Was not involved with Aruba for a very long time, but when support was dropped for older models, it always felt that it happened at a point where the device was truly showing its age, I feel this is not the case now, wireless AC is still very potent and relevant, the fact that I won't be able to pair 335s with 605s, for example, is unfortunate.

I know it's a long shot, but will Aruba reconsider this decision?

The 330 series (334/335) and 310 series (314/315) did not share the same SoC.

No, deprecated APs will not be reintroduced in future code versions.

No, those APs will not be extended.  They were parked in 8.10/10.4 and will not be supported in newer software.

APs, even when they do share a common SoC, don't always have the same components for the rest of the construction and long term availability for components goes into the calculation for determining EOL.
