Hi Chaps,
this may be a simple problem.
I've configured a 3com 4800-24 port switch as core switch in a small network.
Have configured up multiple vlans and interfaces
Vlan 1 int 172.16.0.254/16
Vlan 10 int 172.16.10.254/24
vlan 11 int 172.16.11.254/24 etc
All devices are presenly on vlan 1 with 172.16.x.x address ranges and /16 mask. They communicate fine and can ping the
vlan 1 interface ok.
Ive configured up two workstations on vlan 10 with 172.16.10.2 and 172.16.10.3 addresses (mask /24)and connected them
into two ports on this switch configured as access ports for vlan 10. They cannot ping each other or the gateway ip address.
When i connect the workstations into a dumb switch they ping each other just fine.
This is part of a larger problem im having whereas I cannot get DHCP relay agent to work between dhcp server on vlan 1 and hosts on vlan 201 (vlan int for vlan 201 is 172.17.3.254) Switch can ping dhcp server ok but not a host on vlan 201 if i put a static address on host.
