5406Rzl2 (KB.16.11.0024) support for rfc4893 (four-octet AS numbers)

    My 5406Rzl2 has a private two-octet AS number but I'd like to peer it with my edge router which has a four-octet AS number.  The config doesn't appear to be accepting my four-octet AS number,  It is expecting a value between 1-65535.  

    5406-SWX-1(bgp)# neighbor 10.0.0.10 remote-as ?

     <1-65535>             Enter an integer number.

    Is there something special that has to be done to use four-octet AS numbers?

    Hi, from latest Aruba 5400R zl2's QuickSpecs (January 2025) below the list of BGP-related supported RFCs:

    • RFC 1997 BGP Communities Attribute
    • RFC 2918 Route Refresh Capability
    • RFC 4271 A Border Gateway Protocol 4 (BGP-4)
    • RFC 4456 BGP Route Reflection: An Alternative to Full Mesh Internal BGP (IBGP)
    • RFC 5492 Capabilities Advertisement with BGP-4

    Unfortunately I don't see among them the RFC 4893 BGP Support for Four-octet AS Number Space or the RFC 6286 Autonomous-System-Wide Unique BGP Identifier for BGP-4.
