  • 1.  5900AF-48XG-4QSFP+, Model JC772A - M-GigabitEthernet0/0/0 issue

    I have an issue with the MGMT port on a Hp5900 where it would stay up for a couple of minutes and put it self in a "down" state.

     

    This would happen when I put the MGMT port as "shutdown" and when I do "undo shutdown", the MGMT port would come alive and go back down in a "down" state.

     ^ After this line, M-GigabitEthernet0/0/0 goes to a "down" state

    Check the GigabitEthernet1/0/2 interface configuration on the switch that you are patching M-GigabitEthernet0/0/0 into.

    The logs you shared suggest that something may be happening on the switch that provides the network connection for the management interface M-GigabitEthernet0/0/0.

     

    Examine the switch that M-GigabitEthernet0/0/0 is connected to. Check the logs on that switch. Check the configuration of the interface that M-GigabitEthernet0/0/0 is connected to. Then check the configuration of M-GigabitEthernet0/0/0.

     

    To show the interface configuration in Comware use:

    display current interface XX
