Sure, i have 4x 555s as i mentioned originally and i have been happy with those as well, the issue is the future and seeing no options other than i guess Ruckus Unleashed.

I'm extremely happy with 8.13 running controllerless at home. it's superior to Ubiquiti in my view with its Dream Machine fan base, and an enterprise roaming system can be built for $50 from used eBay hardware and no outside controller. I have no interest in cloud controllers invading my network. FWIW.

ok thanks, i saw the instant and non-instant versions of 10.7 posted so i thought maybe they were reviving that product. it really is a shame for us home users who lean towards enterprise hardware. If only they would give like 4-5 licenses for free or a discounted rate for that scenario.

I think these terms are not fully official but when you hear name:
* "InstantOS" usually stands for AOS version 8.13 and lower running on AP6xx/5xx/3xx series which has possibility to have virtual controller and no need for separate licenses to run system (as far as I know this is last LTS version of "no license needed" wlan os there... I would really like to be wrong in this one)
* AOS is ArubaOS (older switches has AOS firmware currently versioned AOS16.x and newest Central controlled wlan ap firmware are AOS10.x)
* "InstantON" is Aruba SMB/Home product portfolio (this have it's own discussion forum)

i know this is old, but i did see
It doesnt support the 755 from what i see, but it does suppor tthe 730. does this still require the license? thought maybe it was a step in the right direction. if the license is required still why would someone this over the normal aos 10.7?

At this moment it seems that this is end-of-line to use Aruba wlan if you want to go to wifi-7 and don't want to buy separate subscriptions...
I have few customers who has used Aruba just because they has had no must-have additional licenses to use features but AP7xxx series voids this road and I suppose those customers will start to check out other options which has no yearly license costs.

I know these only run aos10. Originally I read that aos was central management only, either in the cloud or on prem. I have 4x 555s at home, so I have no desire for any form of subscription licenses. I saw posts a year or so back saying they might be working on an instant-like solution in aos10. Did this ever come to be or is it still subscription based only?
