    Hi

I have around 700 ap with type 103,205,215 & 305, 7220 controller running with firmware 6.5.4.6 all running on Juniper EX series and some DELL PoE. switches across all buildings with about 9 Access Points per switch. At each of the switches i have a few AP's that randomly reboot about 2-5 times per day. And Downtimes (According to controller and our monitoring system) is about 60-90 seconds per Access Points.

This always happens during the day and working hours.

When i see the log from controller from every access points that flapped, its always say "Reboot Reason: No reboot message found"

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

No message found typically means the power was cut.  I would look at the logs on the switches to see if there is anything that could be determined.

As per josephs thread from 2015, (https://community.arubanetworks.com/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MID=1728) make sure that layer 1 is a constant. I would recommend possibly changing the APs to different ports and see if the issue continues, possibly swap AP locations as well.

Also ensure that your PoE budget on the switch is sufficient for all of the APs connected, if the APs start drawing more power then what is available, the switch might be shutting down ports.

It can also be a wiring issue.  We had one that was rebooting frequently.  We swapped with an AP in a different location and the problem stayed with the location not the AP, so then went looking for wiring problems.  In the end we discovered that one of the screws holding the AP mounting plate to the receptacle box that it was mounted to had managed to screw into the ethernet cable.  I imagine it was shorting some of the wires together and in hind site was surprised that it wouldn't have failed to ever come up at all.  It was not a pointy screw, and there was plenty of room that you'd think the screw would have just pushed the wire out of it's way a little bit.  Probably couldn't install it that way if you tried, but that was our issue on that AP.
