Hello, I was wondering if anyone can help with this. Customer requirement is to configure transfer of nightly backup file to external server. Steps we followed were:

1. After logging to CLI we selected option 4 (Backup)

2. Next, option 2 (Configure Automatic Transfer)

3. Then, option 1 (Set Destination)

We were prompted to enter Backup Destination in the format user@host:path, but connection could not be established. Looking at logs of target server we could see:

First question is, if this is correct way of doing it, and if it is why would AirWave disconnect from external server on its own? Thanks in advance.

Using a client such as WinSCP are you able to login using the same username and password and write a file to the directory?

It took 24h from the initial configuration to realise that this is how the system is designed! It would be great if someone can start writing more detailed documentation :-).

What happened (and this is my guess now as CLI is now dumbed-down and not showing loads of previously available infomation) is that once you follow the steps 1-3 AirWave initially creates connection with remote server, and then drops it as it is not needed at that point in time. If you look at the log/CLI session from AirWave there is nothing giving information what has happened, so to us it looked like an error. Remote server reported that user (AirWave) has established and dropped session, adding to our confusion. In fact, everything is OK and when checkign this morning we were able to see nightly backup file on remote server, as well as Event Log showing that backup file was sent.

Correct.  The setting doesn't act instantly.  It operates as an addendum to the nightly maintenance process.  Will work with documentation team to add some more details to the guide.
