  • 1.  Airwave - Cisco Autonomous APs in VisualRF

    Posted Oct 16, 2019 09:45 AM

    Hi

    I've added some autonomous APs to Airwave. They are detected properly - I see the bandwdith, number of clients, software versions etc in the device pages.

    However - I can't add them in VisualRF to a floor plan. All my controller-based APs are there, but not the autonomous ones.

    Any ideas why this might be? Have I missed a special step for these APs?

    Hi,

    Can you let me know What models these AP's are? It is possible that these AP's are in VisualRf catalog file. AP discovery is possible with generic MIB or Cisco Generic MIB in AirWave.

    Hi

    They're a mix of Aironet 1140, 1240 and 1200 APs.

    How do I check if they are in the catalog?

    Thanks

    Autonomous APs which you have added showing device type as CISCO or Aironet in Airwave?

    In Constant.pm file where we have all supported device list, it shows device model as Cisco

    AP_TYPE_CISCO1140_LWAPP => 264,

    AP_TYPE_CISCO1240 => 87,
    AP_TYPE_CISCO1130_LWAPP => 88,
    AP_TYPE_CISCO1200_LWAPP => 89,

    In Catalog VisualRF file it shows as Aironet may be due to this it is not listing in VisualRF.

    <access-point display-name="1240(a/g)" manufacturer="Cisco" model="Aironet 1240 IOS" part-no="AIR-AP1242AG-x-K9" radio-count="2" unassociated-clients="false">
    <radio phy="g">
    <antennas default="Diversity/Diversity" ext_capable="true" gain="2.5"

    Hi

    So the APs show up like so in the normal device lists in AirWave:

    Cisco Aironet 1240 IOS

    Cisco Aironet 1140 IOS

    Cisco Aironet 1200 IOS

    ...which I presume is OK, as the 'working' light APs show up like so:

    Cisco Aironet 2600i LWAPP

    Cisco Aironet 3802e LWAPP

    .. any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Aaron,

    This should be supported in VisualRF, if the AP's show up in AMP. Please open a TAC case to track the issue and TAC can work with engineering to get this added to the VisualRF code.
