Hello all,

TAC has told one of our customer the following: -

Airwave considers each physical device as count 1 irrespective of any method of stacking, each device will be considered as a each three as three devices not as one logical device.

I thought that this changed at 8.2.2 and now only one AirWave license is needed for the entire stack.

the AirWave licensing confusion the TAC mentioned to you:

To clarify this, I suggest:

1.  Asking the TAC for official documentation to support their claim.
2.  Confirming the exact models and software versions of AirWave and the Aruba devices the customer is using.

I was under the same assumption that you need a license per device not per stack, but also know that it's hard to determine as a stack is managed as a single device and Airwave not always counted/computed the license correctly.

In this case, the documentation is clear: When you add switches to a stack, one AirWave license covers the switch stack.

Please point TAC to that statement. Unsure what the context/relevance is...
