Dears,

   I have a project to connect alcatel ip phones as 4018 model to procurve 2920 switches PoE.

I need to make sure both voice vlan 5 for the ip phone and data vlan 100 for the connected PC / cascaded after the phone.

PC --- IP PHone --- Procurve 2920.

Is there any LLDP setting needed ?

Any port configuration needed for voice / data vlan ?

I think just to make port as trunk and tag vlan 100 data vlan and untag vlan 5 voice vlan ?

DO i need to do any config for lldp ?

Hi waelagina,

One thing to keep in mind is whether you are setting vlan/IP address staticaly on the phone or are expecting it to be picked up from DHCP. If you are wanting to do it through DHCP you might need to add some Alcatel-specific DHCP optins so the phones know to go over to VLAN 100. DHCP requests will always go out on the untagged VLAN - be aware of this if you have any issues.
