  • 1.  AOS 8.6.0.6 / AOS 8.6.0.7 - Guest Captive portal missing images (it's loading images corrupted )

    Hi AirHeads,

    Recently  I deployed  8.6.0.X environment based on MM and 2 70XX MD's.
    Everything working awesome   , Except to the guest captive-portal.
    Here is my story :)

    both MD's are under same group.,I uploaded a customized login-page with all it's content (4 images)
    When testing my upload , And pressing preview from each MD under the MM , i can see the fully load webpage

    When trying to view it from guest-logon wireless clients (tried 4 different ones) images are missing..

    (BTW: Even when trying to change the logo image in the per-made pages that are already built in the controller , the images are loaded broken )
    Example:

    When download elment of the image from the guest browser - i can see the the controller (MD) loading the the beginning of each
    image and the rest is corrupted.

    Please advise.

    I tried multiple versions: 8.6.0.6 / 8.6.0.7 - Same result - images are corrupted
    I tired multiple browsers / computers / smart devices - all with same result - images are corrupted

    I did sync-files command , just to be sure that both MD's got the needed files.

    it's really strange issue , What may be the cause for MD's to show corrupted image files that are located on them.

    Anyone encounter such a behavior in the past?

    What is the format of the uploaded files and what are the size(s)?

    Hi :)

    The page itself , isn't that big.

    (The funny thing - index is there..PDF is there..but all images via Wi-Fi guest-logon role... are messed up (JPG or PNG , template banner logo change or own HTML with pics ..pics aren't loaded as excepted  - and if your pressing on the missing image box on the captive and downloading the image - it's messed up as i screenshot before.)

    (And also , When pressing on the preview button , I can see that the MD's got everything ,via wired -or by  testing the link or the preview button , everything working like charm.)

    Use a Windows client and run wireshark and request the images, to see if something is going on.

    a short update: (It's not an ACL issue or wired issue , it's seems to be an AOS isssue)

    This issue of no images or no pictures is occurring on 8.6.0.6 / 8.6.0.7 (That was i was testing) only when choosing the Captive portal to be http
    workaround..use HTTPS and all images will display as excepted on the guest captive-portal pages

    I dunno . might be a soft-issue(bug) , Because its really reminds me an old bug from 6.5.X versions.

    anyone encounter such an issue ? images aren't loading when using HTTP captive on the controller L3 profile , but looking just fine when using HTTPS captive on the controller L3 profile.

    All the weekend , I continued to test the Captive issue on 8.6.X and 8.7.X and found out that if im using external page (that's isn't located on the controller) - HTTP or HTTP images will appear as excepted, And if i will upload the same page on the controller , HTTP will not show images on the page and HTTPS will show the images on the page.

    So... I guess it's an ArubaOS issue. :( I hope it will be solved in the upcoming versions , Because the majority of the client dosent have an external FTP and are utilizing the controller for small captive host.
