Hey! The test is being done from the ap itself on the wire. Compared to being done on the wireless. However, the wireless is running 5GHz 80Mhz channels.
When running a similar test on a mikrotik ap, it performs nearly line speed upwards of 900Mbps.
Here are my current results. Running same test with UDP from the AP itself on its ethernet port.
Somehow its worse, much worse with udp

what is the channel width? Is it set to 40mhz? To maximise performance you can test with 80mhz. Normally in production this is not advisable.
Also remember that full 1Gbit with Wi-Fi 6 will not be possible. With my 505 AP I got around 550mbps on 80mhz.
Also test with UDP instead of TCP. There is less overhead with UDP

I have an aruba 503, basic setup, managed through aruba central. The AP is connected to 1Gbps ethernet port. However, running a speed test via 5Ghz, the ap is barely achieving 500Mbps. Running a speed-test via the ap itself is showing very poor performance at a range of 200-300Mbps to my iperf3 server. Running iperf3 from a different device shows nearly 900Mbps.
What could my problem be? I tested the port, i replaced the cable. Kind of confused. Is this just an ap that cant handle 1Gbps?
