    Hi Team,

I understand that AP 515 has 2 ports, one smart-rate and other 1G.

    Some queries on this:

    > If I use smartrate switch to connect E0 on 2.5G then can I use the other 1G port to connect to another switch on 1G in redundancy?

    > Does LACP operate among the ports on different speeds? If no then how do they provide redundancy? STP maybe?

You may assume the 2 x 6300M switches are clustered. Also we can assume that AP is externally powered since on E0 is POE capable.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Manish

    Hi Manish,

AP's with two ethernet ports run them in active/passive mode. If you configure the switch to send LACP BPDU's the AP detects those during boot and is using LACP to form a link-aggregation from the two ports. But in this case, both ports will run at the same speed.

LACP is not supported with different speeds.
