  • 1.  AP and Antenna combination for warehouse with 80' ceiling?

    Posted Apr 23, 2014 02:40 PM

The ceiling is so tall in this environment I figured it would be better to mount on the collumns which divide this large warehouse into 5 north-south bays.  After reviewing the AP matrix, with current end-of-life notices, it seems the AP 11x is the best choice.  The only issue could be the 115 has a built-in downtilt Omni, so it might be a better option to go with an AP-114 with three AP-ANT-1B antennas to get a true omni.

The 114 is ok with 802.11af power, which saves on power injectors, but does require 6.3.1.0 code.

    Thoughts?

Our ceilings are 35-45 feet (depending on warehouse) and we're quite happy with the built-in antenna APs and their downtilt.

We're using 93 and 105 -- haven't had the opportunity to install anything newer yet.

Yep, that was the last stuff I installed too.  Since the old 93 and 105 are basically end of sale/being phased out, I want a new solution that has some shelf life.  At 80', this ceiling is going to be a tough one.
