Wireless Access

Apparently we purchased one of these antennas but I cannot find an install doc anywhere. The installer left us the leads marked with the markings on the back of the AP, but none of those correspond to 5GHz or 2.4. I just need to know which goes to which. Does anyone have a picture of the back of this antenna?

The ANT-48 is a 4x4 dual band antenna, designed to connect to any 3x3 or 4x4 indoor dual band AP with RP-SMA connectors. The only different in conectors is the polarity of the antenna, which when connected to a 4x4 AP won't matter.

What AP are you connecting this antenna to?

So for a 318, if you want to lever all of the capabilities of the 318, you would need two ANT-48s (one for each band). Otherwise, you can use a single ANT-48 on the 318, but it makes it a 2x2 dual band AP. You could connect a 45 and 135 lead to 2.4Ghz and the other two to the 5Ghz, then you will need to terminate the two unused RPSMA connectors with 50ohm RPSMA terminators (dummy loads) to protect the radio. Otherwise, running the radio with 2 connectors missing can damage the radio.

If you only want 5Ghz, connect all the leads to the four 5Ghz connectors on the AP and disable the 2.4Ghz radio (terminating the 2.4Gh connectors would be adviseable to protect the radio though).
