  • 1.  AP Directly Connecting to Controller

    Dear Community,

    I am trying to Connect to Some APs Directly to 7010 Controller, I make the Connected Ports as a Trust but AP is showing as a Wired Client in the Controller and it is not joining to Controller. Also try to Statically Put Controller IP into the Access Points. But no Luck, Any other settings need to Enable in the Controller ?

    Hello Tharindu,

    first I have a few questions:

    -did you connect the AP directly to the Controller? If so, you'd need to change the port type to access. 

    -does the AP MGMT VLAN exists on the Controller and got an IP? 

    -does the AP get an IP?

    -what AP discovery methode do you use?

    Did you make the port to which the APs connect Trusted?

    If you see the AP showing up as wired client, your port connecting to the AP is untrusted.

    Thanks Herman,

    I did not enable the "VLAN Trust" under the port, After Enabling that AP Register to the WLC and Then that Wired Client notification was also removed from the Dashboard
