  • 1.  AP not responding after Firmware upgrade

    Hello Community,

    I need your help please

I found some AP on my Network who aren't functionally but they still be visible to my monitoring tool (LibreNMS)

    AP in use Aruba AP-365-RW

After an upgrade attempt form 8.12.0.5 to 8.13.1.0 a few AP's seems to be "stuck". They aren't visible on their respective Virtual Controller, listed as down.

Echo request still working "Reply form 192.168.178.51 bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=62" (randomised IP)

After several Factory rest attempt they still "stuck".

    Web-Interface is not reachable

SSH connection is limited to "root" user (using PuTTY, only command working is "ping" and "reboot")

Console cable access is denied. (Orange JY728A cable used)

Tested in 3 different Network setups with the same outcome, even in a completely isolated and simple environment

Did anyone encounter similar Problems or maybe has a solution to this Problem

    Any help is greatly appreciated

just wanted to double check that these outdoor APs are controller based APs and not Instant APs correct?

No, they are Instant AP , sorry didn't clarify that on the initial post. So far i found 6 out of 191 AP (not all in the same cluster)

Similar issue but not exactly.  After a firmware update on our 6200F switches, all AP's connected to those switches showed as offline.  AP's are Instant AP 505, 565, 567.

Rebooting AP's manually by disconnecting them directly at the switch or at the AP itself and then reconnecting fixed the issue.

Outdoor APs don't use the orange cable, just a standard USB cable.  Boot the AP while the console is connected to see what is going on or to break into apboot and reset the device.

    Thank you Problem solved

using a normal USB cable and installing CP210x driver, i had access to the AP and could enter apboot.

AP's were stuck at "Running ADP..."

    thanks to this Post -> : https://airheads.hpe.com/discussion/apboot-mode-access-point-aos-upgrade-tftp345-ap

i installed new firmware on those APs and they are ready to go
