Hi all,

I have 5406r zl2 switch with module J9990A (HP 20-port 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE+ / 4-port 1G/10GbE SFP+ MACsec v3 zl2 module J9990A). I'm trying bring 10Gb SFP+ transceiver J9151D work on this switch. But when pluged this transceiver to SFP+ port on module J9990A, it does not work, the indicator light flash once then off. Otherwise, I saw it in configuration. I sure that every things else work fine (switch, fiber cable,...). I found that this SKU J9151D was replaced with J9151E on 04-Mar-2019. Anyone here know how to fix this problem.

What the show interface ethernet <port-id> transceiver detail command actually reports? what's about logs when you hot-plugged the SFP+ Transceiver? is the transceiver HPE Aruba original? Is hopefully your Aruba 5406R zl2 Switch running a software version newer than KB.15.17.0003?

Edit 1: on my first reply confused J9151 with J9150 for which the E Revision doesn't exist at all.

Edit 2: J9151E was released also to overcome an issue on the Aruba 8325 when equipped with J9151A/D, see the reason here.

Check that you have the most recent firmware on the switch too, at least a version newer than when the J9151D or E came out.

The J9151D is supported in the 5400R (min SW version suggested by XVR guide is KB.15.17).
