  • 1.  Aruba 1930 JL685A problem with SFP/GBIC

    I have an Aruba 1930 JL685A switch, on SFP+ ports 49 and 50 I connected 2 GBIC D-NET DN-SFP-LX, third-party transceiver, the connection to the switch works on the network, the computers connected to it have access to the network, but on the Dashboard in the switch's web interface, both ports appear with the status DOWN, as it does not have a CLI, I cannot check if it has identified the GBICs.

    Is this due to using a third-party transceiver, lack of system update or some configuration?

    The quickspecs and the Installation and Getting Started Guide list these gigabit SFP modules as compatible:

    J4858D - 1000BASE-SX
    R9D16A - 1000BASE-SX
    J8177D - 1000BASE-T
    R9D17A - 1000BASE-T
    J4859D - 1000BASE-LX10

    If your 3rd-party module doesn't mimic any of those it's not compatible, so it may be reject outright or might not work in a reliable way.

    I think it's the only way, I'm going to buy the J4859D - 1000BASE-LX10 transceiver and replace this D-NET.
