  • 1.  Aruba 2930F JL262A VSF Setup

    Hi guys,

     

    I'm planning to purchase these Aruba JL262A network switches to set them up in a VSF stack. These switches come with 4 SFP (1GB) ports. Do I need to purchase the HP/Aruba DAC cables (J9281D), SFP GBIC connectors and 1 GB fiber cables, or can I use CAT5E/6 cables to connect the two switches and set them up in a VSF stack?

    Greetings!

     

    2930F switches with 1Gb SFP uplinks can use either SFP transceivers with fiber or Cat5e/Cat6 for VSF links (or even a combination of both, as long as all VSF ports are operating at the same speed). You can use up to 8 ports for each VSF link.

     

    Note that the DACs mentioned are SFP+ (10G) cables and will not function in the SFP (1G) ports on this switch model.
