Thanks Chris for your time and support. Appreciate if you can you please answer below queries.
As per my understanding Airwave 8.3.0 is based on SE Linux (Refer AirWave 8.3.0 Security Deployment Guide page 12). Appreciate if anyone can confirm which Linux distribution used for Aruba Airwave ?
In Airwave Active/Standby scenario, Can we configure 2 IPs on Aruba WLC for Aruba Airwave so Aruba WLC an send SNMP traps to both Airwave (Active/Standby) ?
In Airwave Active/Standby scenario, SNMP Traps are sent to both Airwave or we can send to Active Airwave ONLY and Active Airwave will replicate all data on Standby Airwave at midnight?
In the event of Failure when Active Airwave fails and Standby Airwave will act as Active. Is there any automatic preemption mechanism after Primary Airwave comes back to Active or it will be performed manually?
Correct me if I am wrong. Since Aruba AP are registered on WLC. Aruba AP will not communicate with Airwave, Only WLC will communicate with Airwave?

Airwave download only comes as an OVA (for VMWARE) and an ISO (for bare-metal installs). As of 8.3.0.0, I don't see any downloads besides those and there is no application-only install. Like was posted above, please speak to your Aruba Sales team for more clarification.

What you are asking for isn't possible. Airwave only comes as an appliance.
As for HA, Airwave has a system called a failover server. (This is an additional license based on device count). The failover server is a passive server, that copies the nightly backup from the "Primary" server every night. In the instance the primary fails, the failover will take over, however you lose all data from the last time the backup ran.
So if the backup is done at 3 AM, and the primary fails at 5 AM, you will lose those 2 hours of monitoring.
Best to talk to your local Aruba team about this

Subject: Aruba Airwave on Customer provided OS and DB and HA on VM
Hi All
Customer wants to install Aruba Airwave on Customer provided hardware, OS and DB. Only Airwave application should be provided by Aruba. I also need to know Active Standby Airwave design scenarios.
- Latest Aruba Airwave OS name and version
- Latest Aruba Airwave DB name and version
- Latest Download link for Aruba Airwave Application ONLY. (Don't share OVA and ISO download links)
- Aruba Airwave Active/Standby failover scenario on VMWare.
Does Airwave support Active/Active in HA or Active/Passive?
Do I need two Airwave VM (one acting as Active and other acting as Active/Passive) ?
Do I need three VM of Airwave (One Acting as Watch guard 2nd as Active and 3rd as Active/Passive)
