    Hi all.

I'm testing both a 505H and a 505HR (EU) APs here, and there are no differences at software an capabalities level, pero it seems to be different at mounting level. There is no much documentation about 505HR. The AP comes in the box already integrated with the mounting and physically I can't separate the mounting from the AP itself. The AP 505H just comes separately and you can mount or unmount it easily. Another difference is that in the 505HR the uplink port is wired in the base of the mounting. It's strange to me that the 505HR couldn't separate from the mounting, specially for accesing the console port. Could someone confirm that the 505HR (EU) is not designed for separating from the mounting?

It's correct that the 505H (Hospitality) and 505HR (Remote) are the same hardware, they just come with different accessories.

The 505H is intended to be mounted on a wall-plate, mostly used in hospitality, guest rooms, etc.

For a remote access point, it's easier to place the AP on a table. For that, there is a desk mount that is a table stand and you can fit the AP-505H in. The AP-505R is a bundle of the AP-505H and that desk mount. From the data-sheet: "Product bundles for remote desktop use include access point, desk mount, power adapter, and power cord (US and EU only)"

On the separating, I don't think it's designed to not be separated, but more that it's not unintentionally separated, and you don't need to fit the AP and mount together before shipping/handing it over to a user.

My mount is slightly different, I don't have the ethernet connector in the mount so you probably have a newer model; but behind the plate on the back, just above the foot, there should be 2 screws that you can remove to disassemble. I needed a T8 (torx with a hole 'security' screw) screwdriver to disassemble mine.

Nice! That has sense, it was too strange that the two parts could not be separated. I found the screws where you said and in fact that was what was preventing me to disassemble the AP:

    Many thanks!
