Hello All,

we have an CX 6000 switch  FW 10.12.0006.

When I do ssh into switch i do clear int statistics for one port to monitor. 

Then I do "show int 1/1/1 queues"  to monitor queue TX drops. As long as I do stay logged in TX-drops on all queues are at 0. 

SSH consol will be closed after a short while. Affter one hour  I did log in again and "show int 1/1/1 queues" and  TX-drops raised up to a certain level. I thought this could not be true and wrote TX-drops per queue on a notepad. I do "clear int 1/1/1 statistics" and logged off. 

One hour later I ssh into switch and did "show int 1/1/1 queue" and TX-drops are same as noted a time ago.

Is this a normal behavor?

Hello All,

the command "show int 1/1/1 queues" will query physical interface but it does not instead it queries last somewhere stored statistics.

This could not a regular behavor.

Hi, does the command have a global sub command like for basic interface stats? 

The global is the part that actually zeros the counters while the basic clear command simply does it for the session.

to clear statistics I use "clear int 1/1/1 statistics" within ssh session.

My observation shows "clear int 1/1/1 statistics" zeros statistics only for actual session.

If you use "clear int statistics global" this zeroes statistic overall e.g. you close ssh and log in ssh statistics are from that "global" on.
