  • 1.  ArubaOS 8.5 cannot move controller to another folder in heirarchy

I tried moving a controller to another folder lower in my heirarchy and it did not move. I then tried to move it from the CLI using:

    # configuration device xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx move-to /md/yada/yada

    and receive the following error:

Move failed : Configuration not valid at new node /md/yada/yada
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Command Error Message
    ------- -------------
trusted vlan 1-4094 Illegal Operation: Interface belongs to lacp group

trusted vlan 1-4094 Illegal Operation: Interface belongs to lacp group

Question is: do I have to tear down the port-channel before I can move this device? Or is there some configuration change necessary.

The folder I'm trying to move it to was created new and is a sub-folder of the current location of the controller. I've moved other controllers with ease that do not have port-channels. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
in one of my latest deployment i had the same issue. I had to removed the controller from that sub-folder and manually added (or with auto-park) to the desire sub-folder

Thanks for the response ... I ended up tearing down the Port Channel and then the device moved. Recreated the Port Channel and had a total of about 1 minute of connectivity loss.
