If your license expires, you could expect anything. But in most cases all cloud functions could be expected to stop working, and configuration on the device to stay whatever it was before the license expired.
So it depends a bit what features are used on you AP's LAN ports. If it's just a trusted port in a VLAN, I would expect it to keep working; but if multicast replication is done, Airgroup (mDNS), there may be other challenges.
Long story short: don't let you licenses expire. Please work with your HPE Networking Partner or local HPE Team if they can do something for you pending the license renewal.
