Yes, AirWave does Automatic backups from Aruba switches. The backup is based on last change. So, if there are no changes to config for while, the backup wont be taken.

Airwave doesn't autobackup config of the Cisco switch. However, whenever any change is made on the switch Airwave will mark the switch in mismatched state based on the audit it does and through that we can see the difference in config.

Airwave detects the configuration change on a device during the audit and it will archive the device's previous configuration (you can configure "Archived Device Configurations" on the AMP Setup > General to choose how many archived configurations you want to store for each device). On a device's audit page, use "Show Archived Device Configuration" link to view some details about the archived config

    Hello

But each archived running config isnt like a backup? i mean you can still see the running config no? and you can see all the changes between those versions

What would be the diference between this backup and the one in Aruba? in both i can see the running config, i guess with the aruba one i guess i could do other things?

I was calling a backup because i have the running config and i also can have difference versions of all the changes that it did on the cisco switch, its wrong calling this a backup i would like to clarify my concepts

    Thank you  Vishnu!!!

Yes. Each archived config is like a backup of previous running config (when changes happened).

With the Cisco switch configs, you can view and copy paste to switch manually.

Where as for Aruba devices you have more options to set what the 'Base config' is and options to revert config etc.
