  • 1.  Automatically adding newly purchased devices to Greenlake?

    Posted Jul 10, 2025 04:07 PM

It used to be sometimes that when we ordered new equipment (APs, switches) it was automatically created in Greenlake somehow (I didn't have to add/import them). My last few purchases that hasn't happened. How do devices get added to Greenlake (so I can just license them without having to recreate them)?

As far as I know, the main thing is that the customer name on the purchase order for Devices/subscriptions should match the customer name in GLCP workspace. then the devices should be automatically associated with their GLCP inventory.

The most important part here is the partner / distributor that places the order. Some customers has multiple customer name and if the orders are placed (at our side) under different customer names it can happen that devices are not added automatically.

When a order is placed for APs, switches, gateways or subscriptions, we tried to match that to the workspace based on name. First of all, it's important to have the same workspace name as the real customer name.

However, this is not always possible. Sometimes customers has multiple company names. Support can at multiple names / aliases to the workspace to make sure the devices are added automatically.
