    Hi,

I have inherited an aruba system - 20 devices spread over 5 sites.

i really need to start over with the whole deployment as it has not IMO been setup correctly - what would be the best way to do this ?

    any advice gratefully received

Basically, you should start to find out what and why is bad. Then create a new, desired, design and find out the steps needed to get there.

Also, the approach may differ if things don't work at all versus everything is in production so you can't really pull equipment without interrupting your users.

Do you have the Aruba knowledge yourself? If not, I would consult a Aruba consulting partner to take these steps.

From the information that you provided, it is not really possible to guide you more specific.

What are the 20 devices that you have?

What version ArubaOS? Is it even current? What APs and controllers? When was it installed? Did it meet the needs when it was installed? Does it still meet the needs? Separate from the equipment, what are the functional needs and requirements of the network? Is the network a problem for the users, or do they think it is working? What level of authentication and encryption? If you are using WEP or WPA, they were deprecated from the 802.11 and Wi-Fi standards back in 2012 and should be replaced by WPA2 or WPA3. What are the client devices? If you make changes or upgrade the wireless network, will the clients be compatible/capable with the new system?

    I hope this helps,

    Hi All

    thanks for the responses.

    the devices are IAP-315`s

    managed at Aruba central

latest firmwares (only cause i updated them - they had been left for a long time)

The setup seems to have been done with good intent - a VC at each site, however since the way they have grouped the WAP`s if i make changes to any SSID or add an SSID it doesnt apply across the whole fleet

i want to change the way the WAPs are grouped so it acts as one whole system but im guessing that this will disrupt all my users across 5 sites ?
