I am not able to connect my notebook with its wireless feature - BCM4306/BCM22050000. I am runing Windows XP.
Starting the Broadcom Wireless Configuration Utility and running its Diagnostics I got the following result:
    Control Register Failed
    SPROM Format Validation Passed
    Memory Test Failed
    Interrupt Test Failed
    Loopback Test Failed
    LED Test Passed
I am afraid that the Broadcom hardware is defective. Is there a way to confirm its status?

    Hi,

I have the exact same problem, so I hope someone who knows the answer to the question answers it here.

    Bye,
    E.

I ultimately solved a similar problem with the Broadcom wireless by uninstalling the device driver (from Device Manager) and letting XP select the driver when I restarted. I had a re-occurrence of the problem a few weeks later, but the reinstallation again solved the issue.

(My problem seemed to have initially started after I downloaded and installed an updated driver from the HP site for my model laptop -- zd7020us.)

Wow, Donald, what can I say, thanks a lot mate, it really worked! I downgraded the drivers to the first revision possible from HP site for my laptop nx6110, and - voila!

    Thanks a bunch mate!

On a sidenote.. what the hell is this HP? Latest drivers make hardware non-usable? This is not the way QA works is it?

    Bye and thanks a bunch.
    E.

not sure if this is the same, but I have a Compaq "HP" R4000 laptop. It too drops wireless conections..well says its connected but I cannot do anything ie:email, web...

have to totally reboot to solve issue, then seems to be good for about an hour
