    Hi all,

I was looking to do a cable-dianostic on an interface on a 5130-24.

I can't seem to find anything that indicates that this is possible.

Like the Cisco or Aruba (Procurve) series switches, which have some kind of measurement of cobber cables.

    Like : Aruba

    test cable-diagnostics 1/2

    or Cisco

    test cable-diagnostics tdr interface gigabitethernet1/2

after the test is run, one can typically se the result with "show cable-diagnostics ..." something

Is there a similar feature for the 5130 series?

    Regards

Hi @sdide, have you tried virtual-cable-test CLI command at interface view's level?

The virtual-cable-test feature tests the cable connection of an (copper [*]) Ethernet interface and displays cable test result within 5 seconds: test result includes the cable's status and some physical parameters; if any fault is detected, the test result shows the length from the local port to the faulty point.

Reference: HPE FlexNetwork 5130 EI Switch Series Layer 2 - LAN Switching Configuration Guide for Release 32xx.

    [*] note that SFP/SFP+ ports aren't supported.

    Hi Parnassus,

Spot on! I'm not sure how I missed that. I think I was having the idea it had to start with cable. Oh well.

    Thanks!
