    As stated in the title, can ClearPass authenticate based on EAP-TLS only with no Authentication Sources? All I want to do is authenticate machine certificates and nothing further. But ClearPass won't let me save the service unless I also set an Authentication Source. I want ClearPass to validate the machine certificate. How can that be achieved?

    Yes, it's possible.

    Add Endpoints Repository as a dummy authentication source and in the EAP-TLS method you also need to disable Authorization Required.
