Being that we run a nearly all-BYOD network with no control over the client population,

we are keen  to keep track of the percent of devices having trouble with DFS channels

in the 5GHZ band, so we can make decisions as to how much and where we should

cripple the 11ac network for the sake of old clients.

I'm having a devil of a time finding easy ways to extract channel-by-channel statistics

from Airwave/controllers.  There seems to be little preconfigured reporting and not

much in the way of options to construct one.  In addition it seems rather hard to determine

the channel history of a client.

Before I file an "idea" on this in the place-that-ideas-go-to-die, am I missing

any crevaces in the UI?  Anyone have scripts built to mine the arm rf database

and organize data long channel lines?

    bjulin,

The controller cannot keep track of channels that clients never scan, so it cannot pass that information onto airwave.  Channels that are not supported by the client can only be obtained from the client perspective.

Information is not indexed by channel in Airwave.  If it was it might tell you what are the most used channels, but not what specific types of clients are never seen on a channel.  With that being said, I would go ahead file an idea.
