    Hi,

A customer has ordered a ClearPass NL 1000 appliance, along with an Access license and an Entry license. However, I do not see a Platform license in the order.
    My questions are:
-Is this a mistake, since I cannot see any Platform license?
-Why does the customer have both Entry and Access licenses - is Access alone sufficient, or have I misunderstood something?

There is no need for activation license on hardware platforms. That is only needed for VMs. The Serial Number is essentially the permanent platform key. See this link for more information on activating for Hardware Appliance: https://arubanetworking.hpe.com/techdocs/ClearPass/6.11/PolicyManager/Content/CPPM_UserGuide/Admin/Licensing_activating_Platform_license.htm

    Thank you very much.

My second question is about the entry and access license order. Is that a mistake, or can one have an access license without an entry license? It was ordered as both an entry and access license.

Its basically the same as access but with limitations. No TACACS+ Support, Device Profiling, or OnBoard/OnGuard.
