I have a Polycom phone with dot1x enabled, EAP-MD5 as a method and username/password hardcoded, 

I created a dot1x wired service in clear pass with:

- authentication method: MD5 included

- Auth source: local DB 

I created the username and password on local DB 

Doing some test, I m getting an error under "Alert" tab: 

to make sure that my service setup is fine, I plugged my PC with dot1x enable and I was able to authenticate with same username and password. do I miss something related to MD5 ? 

Issue resolved, it was related to a global setup in Clearpass

go to: Administration » Server Manager » Server Configuration, and follow image below and check that "Store loca user passwords ....." is set to TRUE
