When I enable encryption on my WL400 Access Point (AP), the clients (running W2000 with WL200 PCI Card) can't ping the AP. All settings on the client as well as the AP seem to be correct (SSID, Channel, Passphrase and Community String). When I turn off the encryption, everything is working as it should be. Please help, as I don't like it that my network isn't as secure as it could be.

If your using any type of encryption (regardless of bit strength), you'll most likely need add your WEP Key to your Wi-Fi client. Since I am running a WL100 WLAN card, I can't tell you the exact settings. However, I do know that in the encryption settings on the client side, I had to enter my encrypted WEP key manually to allow me to access the WLAN.

Even if your SSID is correct and your trying to create key manually with a passphrase, I would try to create the WEP key manually on the AP and then statically enter the new Key into your clients.

Hope this gives you some new ideas...good luck to you.
