Wireless Access

Hello,

I have installed windows XP Pro on my notebook. Everything is working great! The only issues I have is that the wireless LED "blue" light on the front is not turning on?? The wireless connection itself is working perfectly, but I can't get the pretty blue LED light to turn on!!! If anyone has any suggestion on how to get my "light" :) turned on, please let me know.

once activated, a blue light will appear. by default, it seems all new wireless HP notebooks has the wireless turn off.

I have the same problem too. I am able to activate the wireless connection on my NC6000 laptop but the blue LED light does'nt come on. I was told that it could be the software driver issue but I am not sure how to fix it. Now I just rely on the icons to check if the wireless is up and rnning.

I use windows XP pro.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I have the same problem. My wireless connection is working GREAT! But I still don't have a LED showing. I have pressed the button several times and it does turn the wireless on and off but the LED does not turn on. I am running XP Home.

I have the same problem, all of a sudden the led will not work but wireless works ok.

tried uninstalling atheros & physically uninstalled the hp W500 wireless card.

still no good, any help appreciated.

I fixed my problem. I downloaded the 3.00 driver for my W500 and reinstalled it. During the installation the little blue light came on. Now it goes on and off with the button.

My wireless light indicator is on but I cannot turn it off. My wireless does not work either.

I have tried to do install the wireless adapters and drivers but they do not work. It goes up to a point and stops. Under hardwre manager I see the error under the 801g/ 54g wireless indicating code 10: device failed to start properly.

I downloaded notebook utilities from recovery cd and tried the one online too but both would not complete installation.

System detects the wireless card but cannot get to install the drivers. I have done a total system recovery and the problem still persists.

Mine used to work great then I stopped using the comp for 2 wks and it doesn't work ne more!

I have had many problems with the 2568cl until i installed an external fan, which pressurizes the area underneath the computer and now things seem to work much better. My hard drive temp now registers 87F with the ambient at 80F using smart.com to measure the hd temp.

the computer is not portalble this way, but just sits on my desk and works much more reliably...
