    Hi all,

I'm trying to set up wireless in my environment. I have a broadband ADSL modem connected to a hub then the wireless connects from hub.

    Can this work?..

By default, its ADSL connects to Wireless then connected to Hub.

The wireless has an IP to itself.

When connected to wireless, I'm ablt to ping my ADSL ip and wireless ip, but unable to ping outside (eg:yahoo.com)

    Could someone help me?

    Thanks

    Hi,

It seems to connectivity is fine. Need to configure proxy server. Did you configure Internet Proxy server?

    Hi,

    Both the setup can work?...

    There's no proxy internally.

Could there possibly be the adsl routing ?..

    Hello Amykoh,

Forgetting about wireless for a moment, do you have Internet access when the host (your computer) is wired to the hub? This is just to know whether your Access Provider can be reached at all via your Modem.

Is your Modem also a Router? If it is only a Modem, then your setup may be incomplete. If it is an ADSL Modem/Router, and you get a ping response from the internal inferface, you may want to try to ping your public IP. To find out your public IP, go to the Status page of your Modem's webGUI.

Does the Modem give an IP to your computer via DHCP? Or has this been assigned statically? Either way, if you can confirm that you have Internet when wired to the hub, then this will narrow down the problem a bit.

The previous poster made a good remark. Do you need to go via a Proxy server? If this network is at your home, then most likely not.

You will need to tell us more about your setup (Home/Office, work 0K wired or not, status screen of the modem, modem brand and model name/number etc).

    Goodluck
