    Hi to everyone,

we have 12 Access Points, some Aruba IAP-315 (RW) Instant 2x/4x 11ac AP and some Aruba Instant IAP di 205 (RW) 802.11 N/AC, managed by a virtual controller (every AP is updated to latest version of the firmware)

We never had problems with our configuration but, in the last two weeks, we got an issue when a client change AP, the client receives from the AP an IP Address that is not under our subnet and, the only way to fix it, is to do an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew on the client.

The IP Addresses should be released from our internal DHCP, we think that everything is ok because we can't find anything strange into logs.

The problem persist just for some random clients during the day.

I've already done some troubleshooting but i can't find where the problem is, can you help me to investigate more?

i think the clue is the subnet where these clients are getting their IP address.

What subnets/VLANs are these? so perhaps the switch ports thart the IAPs connect to have inconsistent VLAN configuration

The APs are configured to deploy the internal network and the guest network.

The guest network is configured in static mode , instead, the LAN is configured in the "default" VLAN.

In the switch, the port untagged is for the default VLAN, instead, the tagged are for the guest network.

Strongly recommended to keep client traffic (tagged) and the (untagged) management VLAN separated. Having other devices in the native VLAN may overload the management VLAN.

The IP address that the client receives and that is outside of your subnet, do you recognize that subnet? Is it in use? If not, there may be a rogue access point with the same SSID name and when clients roam they could keep their IP.

No, i don't recognize the subnet, even checking in the ap controller, i see that this wrong IP are connected to one of our AP.

Do you mean an AP that outside of our infrastructure using the same SSID?

    Thanks
