  • 1.  Controllers replacement by others models

    Hello!

I'm figuring out how to replace our WiFi controllers and I would like to have your help.

We have 2x 7220 and 1x 7210 controllers with 1025 APs. Controllers are configured in cluster and L2 Redundancy.  Each APs are configured to point on L2 IP.

We bought 2x 9240 controllers to replace our 72xx.

I added the new controllers to our Mobility Conductor (8.10).

Now I'm not sure what to do.

Do I have to create a new cluster and new L2 redundancy with the new controllers and transfert APs to the new one?

Or I have to join the new controllers to the existing cluster and the APs will move toward automatically?

But how I will prevent APs to go on old controllers, because I will remove the old controllers?

    Thank you!

9240 managed devices do not operate in a heterogeneous cluster.

Create a new cluster and add the controllers to the same VRRP instance. Then move the APs from the old cluster to the new one.

    Use the apmove command.
