Based on your initial testing this sounds like a behavior introduced by a new Android version, maybe exacerbated by how Android may or may not use a full browser for the login. I've noticed in the past that the Android version of captive portal assistance tends to just close immediately after reaching the Internet successfully rather than leaving a window open like the Apple CNA or the Windows full browser.

Dear Herman,
In Cisco setup we are using server initiated and in Aruba we are using controller initiated (also recommended by Aruba). However the problem is, i am not aware if we can have a truly custom login form in server-initiated method. In CI method, i have a fully custom login form running in customer environment.

Please open a TAC case to find the difference between your Cisco setup and the ClearPass setup; or if you can do it yourself, do it yourself.
There must be something different, and I can imagine that Android as soon as it sees connection close the popup browser and doesn't open a regular browser, but haven't tried that.

Why not AOS10? Why not make it a better guest user experience by eliminating the portal?

Is this just for guest internet? Why bother with a captive portal at all? What is the NAD? If this is Aruba Central why not use the native Aruba Central guest features? If this is Aruba wireless, why not AOS10?
