  • 1.  CSR Generation for Instant APs

    Hello,

We have several schools with their own sets of instant APs. We have a guest WLAN for visitors to use, but our certificate expired a few years back when we were still using dedicated controllers at the schools. Our instant deployment has been displaying the HTTPS error on the guest network since. What would be the best way to generate new CSRs for our 12 schools and District office? Each of the 12 schools have Aruba Instant APs and our District office still has a bunch of AP 125s with a 3200 controller. We have an Airwave server to manage the IAPs. Do we need to generate a CSR for each location, or can we use a single CSR to request a cert that can be uploaded to each location? Oh, I forgot to mention that we manage the entire setup using AirWave.

I read a community post that instant APs have no way to generate a CSR and recommended using openssl to generate the CSR. Is this still the case? Here is a link to the article:

    Thanks!

Yes, you need a single certificate that you can use across all of your IAPs and controllers. There are a bunch of How To’s online. Just search “openssl csr”.

Thank you, it's been awhile since I've used openssl. I just wanted some confirmation that there wasn't anything built into our Aruba products for the task.

    Thanks again!
