    Dear Experts,

We are working with hospitality customer and they have a custom page with their own defined workflow. I cannot describe in detail but what i want to know that regardless of any workflow, is it possible to design and code your own page and forms in clearpass? i know we can enter the entire HTML in web pages and i have already done. So far so good but when it comes to forms, can we design our own form to mimic whatever behavior customer is asking?

That depends on the details. You can do a lot, but certainly not everything.

With a custom skin and/or custom CSS you can control the looks a lot. If you want to take another workflow with more steps that are not in there by default, it may or may not be possible. You may work with your local Aruba team to see if they can find you someone with enough experience and knowledge in these advanced scenarios to help you.

    Dear Herman,

I understand. See what customer wants is a basic setup. They will display a page with terms and conditions and there will be a check box to accept. Once they accept, 2 new options will APPEAR (javascript) with radio buttons. The first option is to enter the room number and last name, second option is to enter the promotion code and then submit. Now i can design this page in html/css/jquery but as far as i know we have to use CPPM builtin forms (please correct me if we can use our own forms as well). How can i use any CPPM builtin form in my custom page that i create via web pages section?

If you know how to do html/css/jquery, it should be possible. With javascript you can do many things, like after the T&C acceptance hide/unhide parts of the page, and either hide the generated form and add your own form, or with Javascript copy fields from your own additional form into the original and (CSS) hidden predefined form. Or use the checkbox and javascript to redirect the user to a different page for the promocode.

This is, but I'm not a good webdeveloper, over the edge of my knowledge. But I'm quite sure that it must be possible and much of it is plain javascript+html+css.

For checking roomnumber+lastname, I think there are integrations with Hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), but you could fill accounts through the API as well. For the promo code, you could even use javascript to fill the other form with the promocode as both username and password and check that against the same guest user database.

If you know the technologies, this may be enough to get this done... or there may be someone who did this exact same thing and is willing to share the details.

    Dear Herman,

But what about the forms? i read in some posts on airheads that custom forms are not possible to built since there is a lot of MAGIC happening behind the scenes. Is there anyway to call the builtin forms and modify their look and feel? will that work?

You could just try, but if you prefer not to do that, using Javascript/jQuery to move between separate pages for the two scenarios seems safe to me.

So put the selector on both pages (guest and access code), then with Javascript change to the other page if it the other access method is selected.

I'm just sharing possible ideas. Unless someone has done this, and is willing to share, you would need to test or get someone to assist you on this.

    Dear Herman,
I am concerned about the logic when guest presses the submit button? how will clearpass handle it?

If you have two flows, the flow active will handle the login with it's own submit button.

It's hard to provide you with a canned solution, as I would need to build it for that. I'm just providing guidance and share rough ideas of a direction that may wrok. Maybe you can find someone who can test/build it for you.
