  • 1.  DAC Between 2530 (J9855A) and 5500 (JD374A)

    Hello all,

     

    I'm looking for a DAC that can handle theses switchs : 2530 (J9855A) and 5500 (JD374A)

     

    I found the JD097C (X240) and it sould be compatible to the 5500 according to the installation guide :

    I can't find the same compatibility matrix for the 2530 (J9855A have 2 SFP+ ports) to be sure that the DAC JD097C is compatible?

     

    Is there a DAC compatible with theses switchs?

    Judging by the latest Aruba 2530 Switch Series QuickSpecs, your model (J9855A) should support these DAC Cables:

    • HPE X242 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 1m Direct Attach Copper Cable (J9281B)
    • HPE X242 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 3m Direct Attach Copper Cable (J9283B)
    • HPE X242 10G SFP+ to SFP+ 7m Direct Attach Copper Cable (J9285B)
    • HPE X244 10G XFP to SFP+ 1m Direct Attach Copper Cable (J9300A)
    • HPE X244 10G XFP to SFP+ 3m Direct Attach Copper Cable (J9301A)
    • HPE X244 10G XFP to SFP+ 5m Direct Attach Copper Cable (J9302A)

    once installed on SFP+ slots.

    What you should look for is a sort of Comware versus ProVision (ArubaOS-Switch) DACs interoperability matrix...a thing I really don't know if it exists or not.

    The ProCurve DACs will always work. Get them. Comware switches will complain, but will work. 

    Tested many times with multiple ProCurve and Comware switches.

    If you want full, unquestioned support, you will need a ProCurve optic and a Comware optic, and the fibre to connect them.
