If they connect when the are directly on the switch, but not through a patch-cabel/patch-panel on the same switch ports, I'd use a cable tester to test the cabling.
If they do come online, don't connect to central and are on a different switch port, check the switch port configuration and if all the VLANs that you use are connected to the switch that you use to connect. This doesn't sound like an AP problem.
