    Hi Experts,

We recently shifted our office and thereby we have different networks. I made the new installation of VM Hypervisor which picked the latest ip address from the new network. But when I am trying to connect the Aruba access point AP-515. It is not picking the latest IP address and I see the DHCP from the command line showing the latest new ip address but in Aruba Central, I am seeing the previous network IP address. Due to this difference, I am not able to see my access point online. I am assuming this is the issue.

Can anyone provide advice to make my access point online?

    Thanks in Advance.

Is the AP shown in Aruba Central as online?

Can you do an SSH or serial to the AP and issue the following commands:
    show ap debug cloud-connectivity

It remains in Connecting state in Aruba Central -> Applications ->IoT Operations tab.

Hi, a CLI Output of the commend would be very helpful.

For me it sounds like Firewall settings - can you check if the firewall is blocking communication by the AP to Aruba Central?
The needed firewall settings are documented here - https://arubanetworking.hpe.com/techdocs/central/latest/content/nms/device-mgmt/communication_ports.htm

Maybe because of changing the subnet of the AP the firewall rules have to be updated.

I attached the CLI screenshot for the command line you gave. I checked with network team they said network is open. Still do I need to whitelist the urls provided in the document?? Please advice

    Hi,

I see the message "no license" You have to license the AP to get it operating in Aruba Central?

    Hi,

We have around 7 devices which team have been using from 2023. Till now we never did the subscription. We just added the AP to the inventory and then used it. We were not having these issues before. Due to network change I am facing the issue in my setup.

All 7 devices are shown in the list of Required Subscriptions and list of Subscription keys are empty and nothing to choose

You have to assign the device to a service and than apply subscription:

    and than:
If you don´t have valid subscriptions available you cannot manage those in Aruba Central.

Yes, I followed the same steps. We don't have any subscriptions. Any other ways to make the AP online?

I tried to ping the IP address shown in the Aruba access AP from the Aruba VM in the Test Connection section which resulted in Not reachable.

You have to have valid subscriptions to establish a connection to Aruba Central. You can work with your local Aruba SE to get some Evaluation Subscriptions to get it working. That bridges the time to buy valid subscriptions.
What OS Version are you running?

AOS10 is a cloud native operating System and needs cloud connectivity to get full function and InstantOS 8.x is an Operating sytem which can be used with or without cloud connection.

My access point has the Firmware version of 10.6.0.0_89485 is installed.

AOS10 is Cloud Only and require valid subscription as it was already mentioned. Until you assign subscription it will remain ofline. If it has some previous configuration it will still work but you can't manage it any more.

Your only option here is to buy subscriptions and assign it to APs as @cordless already explained.

If you for any reason can't buy a subscription right now, you have an option to ask your HPE partner to provide you with evaluation subscription for 90 days and you buy subscriptions before evaluation period expires.

You can also create a new GreenLake workspace and get evaluation subscriptions for 90 days and move all devices and configuration to this new workspace.

The last option is to migrate to AOS8 and locally manage  APs.  Before such a step you need to confirm that AOS8 supports your functionalities.

    Best, Gorazd

Is the subscription mandatory now? Is it recently introduced?

If you want to use Aruba Central - Subscription is mandatory - as it was always since 2013.

If you want to use the Wi-Fi Aps without the benefits of Aruba Central and operate them as Aruba Instant APs (controllerless Architecture) you don´t need any License / Subscriptions.
So you have every option available to operate those APs.

    So you have two options:
    1) buy Subscriptions for those APs

    2) only if you don´t want the benefits of Aruba Central - Use InstantOS 8.10.x which is the Long supported Release Code Train as of today. With this option you have to configure everything again because the Config will not be migrated.

Best option in my opinion is to talk to an Aruba Partner in your region to get a good consulting regarding the possible options.
